Companies to present “Innovations for Screen Protectors” at Mobile World Congress

Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) today announced the availability of Accessory Glass 2 by Corning®, its newest glass offering specifically designed for screen protector applications.  The company also announced that New Vision Display is a licensed finisher of Corning’s latest screen protector innovation.

The companies will present the details of this glass solution and its impact on the screen protector market on Feb. 22 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Compared with soda-lime glass or plastic films used in many screen protectors, Accessory Glass 2 by Corning offers better scratch resistance and helps reduce breakage. This product offers a step change in performance for consumers who choose to add a screen protector to their device.

“We introduced Accessory Glass by Corning in 2015 and were very pleased by the market acceptance. We are now bringing a new product innovation to this market which we believe will provide screen-protector consumers with even more benefits,” said Clifford Hund, president of Corning East Asia. “We are delighted to work with New Vision Display to provide them with Accessory Glass 2 by Corning to better enable them to bring high-quality screen-protector products to consumers around the world. We look forward to sharing the details of our progress with Mobile World Congress visitors.”

“Our customers around the world appreciate the quality that Corning glass brings to the table,” said David Kruse, president and chief sales officer, and Jeff Hoffman, director, Accessory Glass, New Vision Display.  “Our agreement with Corning provides us with access to Corning’s newest product innovation for the screen protector market.”

The presentation is open to conference visitors and will be held 2-3 p.m., Feb. 22, in the Shanghai Expo, Hall 3.  The presentation will also include remarks from Cellular Italia CEO Marco Cagnetta. Cellular Italia, a New Vision Display partner, is one of the largest branded distributors of screen protectors in Europe.
