Overview

Corning Gilbert, part of Corning’s telecommunications segment, is a leading provider of coaxial connectivity products for a diverse range of applications, including cable television broadband communications systems, telecommunications networks, microwave frequency telecommunications and wireless systems.

Corning Gilbert continuously strives to develop new interconnect technology that improves the performance, reliability and efficiency of our customers’ systems and networks. Our products support the bandwidth advancements in CATV and telecommunications networks. In addition, we supply wireless products for cellular and Personal Communications Systems (PCS) applications, and are a recognized leader in developing connector systems to meet the rigorous standards of military and commercial microwave applications.

Product Summary

Broadband:
Corning Gilbert is recognized as the industry standard for reliable, state-of-the art broadband products. We provide coaxial connectors, adaptors, terminators, tools and accessories for a wide variety of broadband applications.

Microwave:
Corning Gilbert continuously meets customer requirements for high performance interconnects. Initially developed for demanding military applications, our coaxial push-on interconnect systems are now also used in satellite, wireless and telecommunications applications.

Wireless:
Cellular and PCS applications use Corning Gilbert wireless products, including connectors and other accessories.


Important Milestones

  • 1957 – Gilbert Engineering founded
  • 1967 – Introduced the first proprietary coaxial connector design in the cable TV industry
  • 1982 – First to develop connectors for Quantum Reach® coaxial cable
  • 1994 – Acquired Cabel-Con A/S (Denmark), the largest European manufacturer of brass trunk and feeder connectors
  • 2000 – Gilbert Engineering joins Corning Incorporated
  • 2007 – Corning Gilbert celebrates 50th anniversary
