Session times out
If your session times out, please reboot your PC to delete your cache. If the problem still persists please email us at inquiries@corning.com.
- Session timeout can be caused by using a browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer. Microsoft Internet Explorer has been recommended as the browser of choice.
- This can also be caused by incorrect date/time/time zone settings on your computer. Make sure that these settings are 'in sync' with your current geographic location.
*Check as follows: double-click the time in the lower right-hand corner of your monitor to open the Date/Time Properties window group. Make sure that the date, time (including a.m./p.m.) and time zone match your current geographic location. Also make sure to select the checkbox for 'Automatically adjust for daylight savings time' inthe Time Zone window. Click 'Apply' if active, and 'OK' to save your new settings and close the Date/Time Properties group. Try logging in again. If the settings were the problem, you won't receive the "Your PeopleSoft connection has expired" message.
- Additionally, the message can be caused by a browser cache file size that's too small, or by a full browser cache file.
* Click Tools > Internet Options and click the 'Settings' button in the 'Temporary Internet Files' frame. Make sure that the radio button marked "Automatically" in the "Settings" window is selected. Check the number in the field which is followed by "MB." It should be about 600; overtype, use the slide or up and down arrows in that area to change any other number to about 600. Click "OK" to close the Settings window.
* When you are returned to the "Internet Options" group, make sure the "General" tab is at the forefront. Locate the "Temporary Internet Files" frame and click "Delete Files" and "OK." (This will only delete temporary files from your computer that were stored when visiting internet sites.) When your cursor goes from 'busy' to 'ready' (typically an hourglass and an arrow) click the "Apply" button if active; if not, click "OK" to save your changes and close the "Internet Options" group. Try logging in again, and notice if you still get the message.
