Diana DeLaney Receives President's Award at National Women of Color Conference

Sixteen-year Corning veteran and process engineer Diana DeLaney received the President’s Award at the 13th Annual National Women of Color STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Conference in Dallas on October 23-25.

DeLaney"(I enjoy) the constant challenge of new project assignments on an array of products and the delightful people I meet along the way,” Diana said of her assignments over the course of her career at Corning.

Diana believes strongly in the message the NWOC STEM Conference sends to other women and especially women of color working to break down barriers in the science and technology world every day.

“The STEM award offers a rare opportunity for women of color to be recognized for their technical achievements while providing a vision of what is possible for the next generation,” she said.

Along with DeLaney, five more Corning women were also recognized at the Conference.

Ying Li and Elizabeth Tran were selected to receive 2008 Technology All Star honors and Sinue Gomez, Deepti Mudaliar and Ying Wei were honored as Technology Rising Stars.
