Employees Rally to Support Typhoon Morakot Relief

August 2009
Corning donated 15 million NTD (New Taiwan Dollars) -- or approximately USD $456,000 --  to support those affected by Typhoon Morakot in southern Taiwan. Within a week of the typhoon, Corning announced a donation of two million NTD donated by more than 1,000 Corning employees.

After realizing the extent of the damage from the flooding, Corning employees quickly requested a way to offer support to the flood victims. Their gifts, raised over a three-day period, were matched by Corning Display Technologies Taiwan and supplemented by a grant from Corning Incorporated.

Donations will go to the World Vision Foundation of Taiwan and the Taiwan Red Cross to support volunteer relief efforts.  For more information, read the full news release.
